Read closely.
Attribute carefully.
Boring Brands is written by the performance team at Boring Commerce. We work on paid growth for Indian D2C businesses. Here we study publicly documented consumer brands to help founders make better marketing decisions.
What we publish
We examine positioning, offers, distribution and customer journeys. Each teardown starts with public evidence and ends with an experiment a reader can adapt. The brand guide compares categories and distribution models, while individual studies examine the buying journey in depth.
Where the numbers come from
These studies use company filings, investor presentations, published management commentary and public storefronts. Each post links to its sources and states the reporting period. Reported figures retain the company attribution and metric definition.
We keep GMV, revenue and profit separate. We preserve the scope of group and country figures, and note pro forma measures where used. Campaign analysis uses measured purchases and contribution when those figures are available.
Our data policy
Featured brands are editorial subjects, with no client relationship implied. Client identities and private account information stay confidential. Any future use of anonymised operating data will state the sample and reporting window, with individual examples clearly labelled.
Facts, interpretation and illustrations
Source receipts state what an article is based on. Company disclosures provide the facts; practitioner methods turn them into tests. Worked examples are labelled where they begin and show the calculation. Pull quotes on this site are our editorial observations unless a speaker and source are named.
Corrections and review dates
Each post has a publication date. Storefront observations are dated because prices and ranges change. We update a study when we verify a material correction and show an updated date. To flag a source error, use the booking form linked from the brand review page and identify the article and claim.
